Kitten Care

At AllaFold Cattery, we adore our Scottish Fold and Straight kittens! They are a part of our daily lives, and we take great care to ensure they are healthy, happy, and ready for their new homes.

Before your kitten joins your family, they will have received all necessary vaccinations, been dewormed, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and thoroughly health-checked by our trusted veterinarian. You'll receive proof of vaccinations, deworming, spay/neuter procedures, microchipping, and a health examination certificate for your kitten. All parent cats are DNA-tested at UC Davis and are PKD negative. Additionally, they undergo an expanded genetic panel through CatScan to ensure they are healthy and free of genetic conditions. Our kittens are guaranteed to be FeLV/FIV negative, free of parasites, disease, and fungus at the time they go to their new homes.

Upon adopting from AllaFold Cattery, you will also receive a TICA registration slip to continue your kitten's registration under your name. To complete the process, you can create a free TICA account online.

Ongoing Updates and Adoption Process: Once you've reserved your Scottish Fold or Straight kitten, we will keep you updated with photos, videos, and health reports, and you can even schedule FaceTime calls to watch them grow! Kittens are ready for their new homes around 16 weeks of age. This ensures they are fully socialized and trained to use a litter box and scratching post. We require that your kitten visits your veterinarian within three days to 72 hours of arriving home. Failure to do so will void any written health guarantees.

Grooming: Our Scottish Fold/Straight kittens are accustomed to regular grooming, including brushing and nail trimming. Nail care is essential to minimize unwanted scratching, even though your kitten will already be trained to use a scratching post. If you're unfamiliar with nail trimming, we are happy to show you how! Please note, we strictly prohibit declawing. Declawing is equivalent to amputating part of the cat’s fingers and can lead to long-term health problems and negative behaviors, such as biting, litter box issues, and chronic pain.

Exercise: Scottish Fold and Straight kittens should never be allowed to roam freely outdoors. If you plan on outdoor adventures, we recommend using a harness and leash to keep your kitten safe.

Diet: We feed our kittens a combination of dry, raw, and canned food, with an emphasis on raw or canned for optimal health. Dry food is high in carbohydrates and low in moisture, which isn't ideal for cats. We recommend Darwin’s Natural Pet Products for raw food, as well as Royal Canin Mother & Kitten wet and dry food. Fresh water and dry food should be available at all times, with water changed daily and the litter box cleaned at least twice a day.

Pricing: The price of Scottish Fold/Straight kittens varies based on several factors, including ear type (Fold/Straight), ear fold tightness, coat length (long/short), and color. Kitten prices can range anywhere from $1,500-$3,500. A non-refundable reservation fee applies for newborn kittens, which is determined on a first-come, first-served basis and is included in the total price. All prices are subject to change and will be discussed on an individual basis.
